Revealed at the New York motor show, the upgrades are available across all four C63 body shapes in the guise of saloon, coupe, estate and cabriolet.
Under the bonnet, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine is offered in two outputs. In standard C63 form, it makes 469bhp, while in C63 S trim it provides 503bhp. In coupe form, that results in impressive acceleration of 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 180mph.
A new AMG Dynamics system has also been introduced, which works behind the scenes depending on which of the six drive modes have been selected (Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race, or Individual) to adapt the car’s responses to the driving characteristics required.
Because of the increased equipment levels, prices have gone up. The least expensive in the line-up is the C63 saloon, which starts at £64,000 – up £3,500 compared with the outgoing model. The C63 S saloon costs from £73,000 – up £5,700.
